Cellulose-based polypropylene, polyethylene super absorbent polymer fibre dressing impregnated with 100% Leptospermum scoparium (Manuka) honey from New Zealand. These single-use, sterile, highly absorbent dressings will maintain a moist wound environment conducive to healing. The high sugar level in Manuka honey results in osmotic pressure which may help to promote autolytic debridement of necrotic tissue.
Chronic and acute wounds with moderate to heavy exudate, including leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, surgical wounds and trauma wounds. May also be used over-the-counter for minor abrasions, minor lacerations, minor cuts, minor scalds and burns.
Sensitivity to honey. Minor stinging may be experienced due to osmotic action and/or the low pH of honey. This should be temporary. If pain persists, discontinue use of the dressing and gently irrigate the wound with sterile saline solution. Only for external use.
5×5cm; 10×12.5cm
Soft, sterile non-woven dressing made from two layers of 1.2% ionic silver-impregnated Hydrofiber; sodium carboxymethylcellulose and enhanced with More Than Silver antibiofilm technology, stitched together with cellulose-strengthening fibres. Absorbs wound fluid, and disrupts and breaks down biofilm to expose and kill bacteria, while preventing biofilm re-formation. Provides nine times stronger tensile strength and 50% greater absorption than Aquacel Ag.
