Medical-grade polyurethane (PU) wedge that attaches to the patient's bed. The patient's lower legs rest on the wedge while the heels extend beyond the end of the device, keeping them clear of the mattress and redistributing weight onto the calf.
At risk of heel pressure ulceration; Heel ulcers or pressure ulceration risk due to reduced mobility; Requiring redistribution of pressure, friction and shear from the heel; Requiring heel elevation to prevent contact with the mattress; Requiring pressure care management in hospital, care home or home care
Conditions where limb elevation is contraindicated; Unstable lower limb fractures or injuries; Risk of circulatory restriction or increased discomfort (use clinical judgement)
Universal size
Offloading device that completely suspends the heel. Has two internal foam finishes (convoluted or smooth) and a friction-free exterior surface. Ventilation holes promote air circulation. Three straps hold the forefoot and lower leg in an orthograde position. Can be worn on either the right or left foot. Machine washable. The device is supplied with a forefoot pad, a long calf pad (30cm), a positioning wedge (to counteract external rotation of the leg) and a laundry bag. On the NHS Supply Chain.
Combines advanced technology with practical design to ensure optimal offloading, stability and shock absorption. Engineered to provide unparalleled support and relief, it includes three components that work together seamlessly to offload pressure from sensitive areas, promote healing and provide stability for various postoperative conditions such as foot osteotomies, plantar fasciitis and heel spurs.
